Basic Principles Regarding Research and Development


Sun Chlorella, as the name suggests, has been selling chlorella as its main product since its establishment over 45 years ago. We emphasize “health maintenance work” rather than “appearance” and “taste,” and offer “health food” that is useful for health as a whole food that is as close to natural as possible. The health foods we offer are different from medicine in that they are composed of multiple nutrients just like ordinary food. It is thought that these are not the effects of specific ingredients such as in pharmaceuticals and foods for specified health use, but they demonstrate the function of maintaining health through multiple nutrients, and their functions are extremely complicated. Accordingly, we believe it is difficult to clarify the mechanism. Recently, the number of TV programs that scientifically explain the relationship between health and nutrients has increased, and the level of knowledge of consumers is also increasing. When these programs are aired, it is evident that consumers are interested in health from the phenomenon that the featured ingredients sell out quickly. The reexamination of the word “medical food source” is preferable, but on the other hand it is biased towards scientific explanations, and there is also the possibility that what is really good cannot ever be completely understood.
In the Sun Chlorella Research and Development Division, we focus on the results that appear as a result of complicated mechanisms, and we conduct scientific studies to prove those results, not just pursuing only specific nutrients or having a bias towards academic research on the basis of interest. Through genetic analysis of chlorella, research on tracing the ancestor was conducted to help clarify the wonder of chlorella.
